Your Tagline & Strapline
A one-line tagline appears in your hero and metadata. Tips for writing one that converts.
Updated 15 June 20263 min read
Your tagline is the one-line promise that appears under your logo on the homepage hero and in your page metadata. Get this right and first-time visitors immediately understand what your site is for.
Where it appears
- Homepage hero (under brand name)
- Default OG share card subtitle
- Meta description fallback when you haven’t set one in SEO defaults
- About page tagline
What makes a tagline work
Three rules, in order:
- Concrete prize, concrete frequency.“Win a BMW every week” beats “Life-changing prizes” every time.
- Under 60 characters. Anything longer is truncated on share cards and reads cluttered in the hero.
- One verb, one promise.“Win”, “Play”, “Bag” — pick the strongest one and commit.
Five examples that work
- Win cars, cash and tech every week.
- UK’s freshest weekly prize draws.
- Real prizes. Real winners. Every week.
- Bag a BMW from 99p.
- The North’s biggest live raffles.
Where to set it
Raffle admin → Brand. Saves to tenant_config and propagates immediately. Or you can edit it during the Launch onboarding form before your site is provisioned — the value you enter there is the first one stored.
